It's officially past midnight on a Saturday, which means it’s my usual 'me time.' The house is finally quiet, everyone is tucked in, and I'm supposed to be following suit. But of course, my brain decided to stay up and run through my to-do list for the next century. Sleep can wait, I guess. It's not like I need it for the next back-to-back events, right? π
We had a school event for Adam this morning, and next we have his Taekwondo grading tomorrow. My internal alarm clock is set to 'earlier than the sun' every single day, and I'm pretty sure my morning commute to the island is going to be my daily cardio.
I usually live for the weekend. It's a time to stay longer in my pajamas and do absolutely nothing. But when there's a school event, it's a completely different story. It takes a superhero-level of motivation to drag myself and the kids out of the house. The one thing that keeps me going? The promise of food! Earlier today, we bribed ourselves with sushi. The kids are obsessed now, and my heart melts a little every time they ask for it. I've finally found my sushi buddies!π£
Anyway, remember how I was celebrating the semester break with no classes? Well, just like that, the break is over in a week. I'm welcoming the new semester with a very confused feeling, like a kitten chasing its own tail. I usually start by checking my students' profiles. Some are taking my course because it's required, while others choose it as an elective because they heard it's actually fun. And wouldn't you know it, the students who 'want' to be there always perform better. Motivation is a powerful thing, for them and for me.
Alright, my bed is officially calling my name, and I'm pretty sure tomorrow is going to be a marathon. Time to get some rest! Goodnight! π
