Interesting places to visit in Copenhagen

Assalamualaikum,

Okay, now let's continue with the interesting places you might want to visit if you have 24 hours in Copenhagen. Sebelum keluar tu pagi hari Sabtu tu, kitorang dah siap makan nasik kenyang-kenyang so ada a lot of energy untuk jalan-jalan.

Our cold morning in Copenhagen

Copenhagen Central Station

Salah satu Hard Rock Cafe yang paling santai yang I penah pegi.

The famous Tivoli Garden.

Our first stop was Rosenborg Castle. Tapi masa sampai tu askar depa dok tengah marching, so tak dapat nak walk around the castle. :)

At the main entrance of the Rosenborg Castle.

Lepas tu kitorang jalan kaki ke Royal Garden dekat sebelah Rosenborg Castle. It was a reallllyyy beautiful garden, walaupun penuh diseliputi salji, pokok semua pun botak, tapi tetap nampak cantik jugak in my eyes. I am pretty sure the garden will become more beautiful in spring season with colorful blooming flowers and fresh green leaves.

Beautiful, isn't it?

Garden of Red Thorn Roses

From there, kitorang terus berjalan sampai ke Nyhavn Canal. This place is very famous for their boats service and beautiful buildings surrounding the canal. Tapi disebabkan cuaca yang terlampau sejuk, sungai dah bertukar jadi ais, kitorang pulak sikit lagi nak jadi ais berdiri keras kat situ. Kaki, tangan, muka semua kebas kalau orang tumbuk pun confirm tak rasa sakit.

See that icy-water? Nak senyum pun tak larat dah masa ni. Muka kebas!

Extremely cold this time.

Gagahkan diri berjalan walaupun kaki, tangan semua dah tak rasa dah.

Viking ship at the back

So, sebelum kitorang membeku jadi sculpture ais dekat Nyhavn Canal ni, we decided to leave this place and go back to our hotel for prayers and refreshment. Sebelum keluar balik, I pakai jaket lagi satu (2 lapis baju tebal, plus 2 jaket tebal), pakai stokin 2 lapis, glove 2 lapis baru rasa lega sikit nak berjalan dalam cuaca yang macam tu. Hadoiii susahnya dok negara beriklim macam ni. Asal nak keluar rumah je mesti berat naik berganda-ganda sebab baju tebal sangat. T__T

Sempat singgah di Stroget. Kawasan membeli-belah yang mewah untuk orang-orang kaya.
Me? But lintasan hormat sampai depan Hermes je, tu patah balik. hahaha. :p

So lepas tu, we went to The Kastellet, a military fortress that was built before peperangan antara Danish Vikings dengan English Army.

Pintu gerbang masuk The Kastellet.
Ala-ala pintu gerbang yang dalam cerita Lord of The Ring masa perang-perang tu.

Res Windmill Tower

Hidung saya merah. kahkahkah.

Lepas dah pusing-pusing keliling Kastellet tu, kitorang naik bas pergi Copenhagen Opera House pulak. It is situated at another zone near the harbour. Tapi cuaca dah gelap masa tu, so tak banyak sangat gambar menarik yang boleh ambik. Plus dah hujan and kitorang pun dah kesejukan yang terlampau, so we decided to leave early.

Copenhagen Opera House
Dah mula hujan rintik-rintik masa ni

But the night was still early, we didn't want to waste the 24-hour ticket we bought earlier, so kitorang sesaja naik metro pegi airport. hahaha. Takde keje betol. Tapi bagus jugak, boleh check in siap-siap pastu pusing-pusing kat dalam airport tu. Esoknya flight pagi takdela rushing sangat. hehe.

Lepas dah balik bilik tu, masak nasik dengan maggi, makan kenyang-kenyang berlaukkan telur dengan sambal tumis ikan bilis nyum nyum, pastu dua-dua terbongkang kepenatan sampai esok pagi. hahaha. Esok paginya kitorang keluar dalam pukul 8am terus pegi airport, ready for our flight back to Austria. :)

Gambar kat bawah ni semua masa kat airport sebelum boarding. We don't know when will be our next trip to Copenhagen, but we surely know that we had a really great weekend getaway here. InsyaAllah kalau panjang umur dan dimurahkan rezeki, I definitely want to come back. But not during winter. That's for sure. :)

Pengaruh Scandinavian di mana-mana.

Thanks for having us Copenhagen.
We had a great time! :)

So I guess this the wrap up to my Copenhagen trip.
I hope this will be a useful entry to those who is vising the Danish land.
Till I see you again next time.
Assalamualaikum. :)

General information about visiting Copenhagen :)

Assalamualaikum semua,

I am back! I will just go straight to the point about my visit to Copenhagen last weekend. I did mentioned about Copenhagen being in the Scandinavian countries, didn't I? Little did we know when we started our journey, Scandinavian region could be extremely cold during winter. So if you are planning to visit this place in the next winter, you better think twice! T___T

So, hari Jumaat lepas, kitorang naik train pukul 11.20 am dari Graz ke Wien Meidling. From there, we need to en-route to Renweg to catch another train to Vienna Airport for our 5.25pm flight to Copenhagen. Sounds complicated kan? Jadi lah jugak drama berlari-lari kejar train hahahaha. But we made it there to the airport with a plenty of remaining time before boarding. Phewwww.

Selfie inside train. Graz-Wien Meidling.
Kesian suami saya sebab terpaksa layan gambar cenggini. kehkeh :p

Lepas dah siap solat dekat Vienna Airport
They provide a proper prayer room for all religions. So takde masalah tempat solat. :)

It took us around 1 hour 20 minutes to reach Copenhagen, and bila sampai je sana, we took a direct train to Kobenhaven Central Station. We purposely booked a hotel which is near to the main station so senang nak gerak pegi mana-mana. Recommended!

See Omena Hotel at the back.
Yes it was still snowing there.

Lepas dah letak beg apa semua, kitorang terus keluar nak jalan-jalan kawasan sekitar tengok suasana malam dekat sini. There is a Hard Rock Cafe near the main station, so if you're an avid HRC merchandise collector, this place suits you best. There are plenty of hotels around here, pilih je nak yang bajet ke yang mahal. Semuaaa ada kat sini. :)

Gambar wajib tanda dah jejak kaki ke HRC Copenhagen.

Lepas dah jenguk HRC tu sat, we walked on to the City Hall area, it was much to our surprise that the city was soo lively. 7E bersepah-sepah every 100 meters, convenient store pun bukak sampai lewat malam, restaurants, kedai kebab halal semua bukak sampai lewat malam. You don't have to worry a bit about getting foods at night. But errr, I think you do have to worry especially when you don't want spend so much money on unnecessary things because the food prices are damn expensive. ;O

Night life at the city centre

One of their famous buildings. Danish products are written all over it.

Lively place even though night is getting late

Seriously, tinggi gila living cost kat sini. Luckily I bawak beras, telur, serunding dengan sambal ikan bilis for this trip. Pastu ada jumpa maggi dekat halal groceries near our hotel, so, we survived by just eating them for 2 days. :)

Usually, tempat pertama yang kitorang akan tuju sebelum mula jalan-jalan is the Tourist Information Counter. Kita boleh ambik map dekat situ, then start planning on where to go next. Nak pegi mana dulu, nak naik apa, semua kena plan betol-betol. Memang dah study dalam internet sebelum pegi tu, tapi bila dah sampai, mesti lain jugak jadinya. So map dari information centre tu memang sangat-sangat berguna!

Kalau nak jalan-jalan pulak, I suggest you to buy a city pass that will cost you 75 Kroner each. You can ride on all public transports (bus, train and metro) for 24 hours.

Left: City pass for 24-hour. 75 Kroner
Right: Single pass valid for 90 minutes. 36 Kroner.

Ehhh belom masuk bab jalan-jalan lagi dah panjang macam gini? I think I better separate the Copenhagen story into two entries. Takdela korang muntah membaca kan? Kali ni kita masukkan cerita general je. Next I will tell you more about the places we have visited. See you soon. Tata :)

Hello Copenhagen. I will see you soon. :)

Assalamualaikum,

Haa, ni confirm ramai yang dah start balik kampung sebab cuti CNY ni kan? Best betol orang mesia ni, tak kira apa bangsa punya sambutan mesti semua orang pun dapat privilege jugak. Tapi yang tak mampu nak hadap masa musim-musim perayaan ni of course jumlah kereta yang meningkat mendadak kat highway.

Memandangkan orang-orang dekat Malaysia syok dapat long weekend, kitorang pun nak bercuti la jugak sempena cuti CNY ni. hehe. Am awal-awal lagi dah book flight ticket ke Copenhagen, Denmark untuk long wekeend ni. Kebetulan hari tu Austrian Airlines ada buat offer, so apa lagi? Cepat-cepat la dia grab.

So yesterday we went to the nearest money changer to get some Danish Kroner untuk belanja kat sana. For your information, Denmark tak termasuk dalam Europe Union (EU), so matawang Euro tak boleh guna dekat sana. Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway and Iceland are called the Scandinavian and they are geographically situated at the northern part of Europe.

So InsyaAllah esok tengahari kitorang akan naik train dari Graz ke Vienna, then from Vienna airport we will fly directly to Copenhagen. I have studied a little bit about the capital city of Denmark, and I think it must have non-identical traits that other places have yet to offer.

Nyhavn Canal. We really should find out more about this place.

So here is my travel map that I made using maps.google.com
Let's see if I am willing to visit every place I have marked in there :)

So I think that's a little bit about the place that we are going to visit tomorrow.
I hope you guys have a great holiday with your beloved.
Till then, see you soon!
Tata.

Major snow experience in Maribor, Slovenia.

Assalamualaikum semua,

How has everything been for you? Semua sihat ke? Hari ni I nak kongsi sikit pengalaman about my recent trip pergi sebuah negeri dalam negara yang bersebelahan dengan Austria, that is Maribor in Slovenia. I never knew the existence of this place only until I get here, so I paham kalau korang pun tak penah dengar nama negeri Maribor tu. haha. :p

Tapi kitorang pi naik train, so it took us around 90 minutes to reach there. Nak dijadikan cerita, time tu lah jugak snow mula turun kat kawasan central europe, hambek kau, berjalan la dalam cuaca sejuk beku menggigil-gigil tu. Average temperture semua di bawah paras beku. Nangesssss! T___T

Pagi-pagi naik train pukul 8am. Temperature was -1 degrees.

Sekali bila dah sampai sana, and we have to actually walk on (sometimes inside) the snow, perasaan dia hazab nak mampoihhh! Seriously, snow might look beautiful in your eyes, but in reality, unless if you are walking in a proper snow gear, they are horribly cold!

View di sepanjang perjalanan. Cantik kan?

Dah sampai station Maribor. Thick snow on the ground menandakan malam sebelumnya snowing quite heavily.

I walked like this most of the time around the city. Tengok bawah je tak pandang depan.
Kena extra careful sebab sangat-sangat licin kalau jalan atas snow mula mengeras jadi ais..

Winter sonata sangat ni. :p

You won't see colours around you. Just black for the road or white for the snow.

But it's okay, anggap sebagai cabaran, kitorang pun redahhh je menapak keliling Maribor tu walaupun gigil-gigil sejuk macam ayam dalam peti beku. kehkehkeh. Our first destination is to the largest park in the city called Mestni Park. Sebelum tu dah siap bawak bekal konon plan nak picnic dekat situ. Nama pun taman kan? Dah siap berangan kalau picnic mesti la best. Berbunga-bunga hati nak pi makan kat taman sebab perut pun dah lapaq.

Excited nampak papan tanda ke Mestni Park. nak picnic kononnya.

Sekali bila dah sampai kat taman, we went like, "Where on earth should we have our picnic, baby? This place is alllll covered with freaking ice!!" Huwaaaaaa!! There goes our angan-angan untuk berpicnic. But we had so much fun taking photos and playing in the snow instead. T___T

Mestni Park, Maribor, Slovenia.
25 January 2014

Duckpond di Mestni Park. I bet the water must be freezing because the other half of the pond was covered with ice on the top.

Ain't this white building look cute?
Matching je dengan snow yang putih tu. :)

Goodbye Mestni Park.
We surely had a lot of fun experiencing snow here. :)

Lepas dah alas perut sikit, kitorang sambung jalan sampai kat City Centre. Masa tu tengok dah ramai orang keluar bawak family jalan-jalan. Ada yang bawak anak ice skating, lepak minum coffee under sunlight, and ada jugak memang dah pakai proper snow gear bawak anak main guling-guling dalam snow. I think that's the most interesting part of my trip here, sebab dapat tengok macam mana orang-orang dekat situ spend the weekend with their family.

Ada Maribor Museum dekat sini. But errr, you know I'm not really into museum.
Plus semuanya dalam bahasa Slovene, how could I understand. Alasan. :p

Ice skating park for kids. 2 Euro per entry.

Look at how their people enjoy the sunlight at our back.

They have plenty of cute stalls like this around the city.

Restaurant macam ni pun ada banyak. Simple tapi comel gila kan?

We walked around the city until noon, then we decided to go to the other part of the city where we need to walk on a bridge across Drava River. Mula-mula je nampak sungai tu, I jadi jakun jap tengok pemandangan yang sangat-sangat cantik di sepanjang sungai. Omg, tak pernah seumur hidup I bermimpi untuk berpeluang sampai ke tempat macam ni, but here I am, witnessing the beauty of God's creation at a very strange place. I really need to express my greatest gratitude to the Almighty for this chance. :)

The river, the snow, the swan. Perfect!
Nampak tak hidung merah macam rudolph?? hahaha.

One of the bridges across Drava River.

See, I never got enough of the bridge. Cantik sangat1

Water tower. Antara tourist attraction jugak la kat sini.

Our final destination was a huge shopping mall called Europark. Solat and makan dekat situ siap-siap sementara nak tunggu train balik Graz malam tu. Kaki pun dah lenguh gila sebab banyak berjalan dalam heels boots. They are comfortable to cover my feet from the cold, but they are not made for a lottttt of walking. So you know what happen to me in the end?? Haku berjalan keliling shopping mall sampai la ke train station pakai selipar jepun. kahkahkah.

Memang orang tengok atas bawah atas bawah, tapi ada aku kesahhhh??? Dah la sepanjang satu hari suntuk dekat situ orang memang tengok macam alien sebab satu-satunya manusia bertudung, pastu ditambah pulak dengan pakai selipar jepun dalam cuaca sejuk nak mampoihh tu, mana la orang tak tengok pelik. hahaha. But I don't mind, as long as I am comfortable in it, I am okay with it!

The end of our journey. Nampak tak selipar jepun ijau tu?? :p

Satu lagi hazab nak kena tempuh sebab temperature masa tu -5 degrees celcius. Sejuk gilaaaaaa hoihhhh. :)

Apparently the nightmare didn't stop there.
We were greeted by the same scale of cold temperature when we reach Graz.
Ohhh great!!
The cold weather is killing me here!
T__T
